I've had solar for ten years - here's the thing

4:40 micro-inverters instead of string inverter: if one panel shaded, doesn't decrease output of whole system. If fails, other panels continue. 

5:54 power optimizer: an alternative to individual micro-inverters for each panel; cheaper, but still need a string inverter for the whole system.
