Driving a 911

I had a chance to take a Porsche 911 for a test drive today. It was a 2007 automatic.
Great exhaust note, incredibly smooth power, really nice cornering. However, the feel of the road through the steering wheel and responsiveness of the steering was not what I'm used to from a sports car - it felt a little distant and aloof. There was more road feel from the back of my seat - with low profile tires every little bump in the road came through. Luckily that didn't mean there was too much road noise at highway speed.
The braking felt unassisted, with a lot of pedal pressure needed before you really felt any braking.
So, exciting to drive, but not enough road feel through the steering.
